Snow White And The Huntsman

Ya know. You can tell that the makers of this film cared about what they were making. There is a lot of effort in this film. Everyone is likable in their roles. Its campy at times but you expect it to be. Charlize Theron is a excellent actress and she comes off creepy as hell and even camps it up at times. I really enjoyed it. Chris Hemsworth was very likable as The Huntsman and even Kristen Stewart did a good job. She is not  a terrible actress by any stretch. Shell never win any awards mind you but she is OK. It doesn't hurt that she is attractive.

If you like the fable in anyway give this movie a shot.

The Avengers

How the hell did this work? 5 Separate movies that weren't really tied together form a 6th movie that is AMAZING. Do you realize the miracle that has to occur for it to work? Holy crap. If you are one of the 3 people that haven't seen it go now! It works on every level. Also stay to the end of the credits there is a second reveal that is funny. Its a Supers Hero Done Right!

Safe

Ok . This movie was my second of the year "MEH" but that was way more disappointing because i expected way more silly. Its a Statham movie you kind of have to expect it. It has some silly in the fights but not nearly enough with no Pay off when he fights the final fight with the big bad guy. I was kind of disappointed. Mind you i didn't hate it just disappointed.

Watch if your a Jason Statham fan

Lockout

This is another movie nobody saw. It came and went very fast. I have to say though this movie is a lot of fun. Guy Pierce knows exactly what movie he is in and he haves fun. Also how many times is he the hero? I mean seriously he is almost always a bad guy. Honestly though did you expect this movie to be a masterpiece its basically Escape From New York In Space... I will warn you though every scene that Guy Pierce isn't in is kind of painful. Everyone else seems to take it seriously. All and All I think its worth a watch for its humor and Guy Pierce.

Side note his name is Snow.... He wont tell people his first name.....Give ya a hint he has the same first name as Sylvester Stalone in Cobra... Yeah it knows exactly what it is.

Titanic 3D

If you haven't seen this 15 year old movie before.. Why its a great film that tells a great story. Is it worth seeing it.  in 3d .... God no the 3d is utterly pointless. You can literally take the glasses off in most scenes. Hell I got bored 45 mins from the end and went to take a break and walked in and watched The Hunger Games... and yes i walked out in the biggest action sequence in the end. I got bored AND I have always really liked this movie. This just didn't need a re release. Watch it in 2d only.

Wrath Of The Titans 3D

Holy shit is this movie bad. This movie is one of the most forgettable movies i've ever seen. I actually forgot most of it as I was actually watching it. The 3d is a complete and total waste. Every time this movie brings in something that should be part of the plot they quickly discard it. I've never seen a movie I personally forgot while i was watching it.

Fell free to watch it you'll forget anyway...

The Raid : Redemption

Holy Crap this movie has some utterly amazing fight sequences. If you like amazing fight sequences you need to see this. It is subtitled only. Its told from the point of view of a Swat team sent in to take down a drug lord and the whole building is under his control. Things go to hell and they fight there way to the top floor like in a video game. The movie is a blast with great action

See it.

The Hunger Games

Did anyone Not see this? I mean seriously. This is a excellent movie one in which I plan to purchase. I loved the books and greatly enjoyed this movie. I liked it so much I saw it in IMAX which i had to drive a hour and a half to do. hell I've seen it 10 times. If you've read the book and you haven't seen it . Whats wrong with you?

Is it perfect? No Does it go directly to the book? No BUT could it really do that there is so much that happens in the book that you cant put in the movie. There isn't the inner mono-log like in the book its all done with body language and acting and thank god Jennifer Lawrence is a excellent actress. It does have extreme use of a shaky cam to hide violence but it makes sense. It all a reality TV show so it works. The only real complaint I have is the time spent with Rue is to hurried. Also this movie is very fast paced (if you've read the books) If you haven't you might not think so.

John Carter

Yes I know nobody saw this movie and it got reviews that were not that good but you know what I quite enjoyed it. The special effects were very good, the characters were likable and it had a strong female lead. I actually hope that this movie become a cult classic. It had a chance since it failed so hard.

Before you judge this movie remember that it came from a 100 year old book. It invented the cliches it used. In its failure it has proven how Disney treats its movies that don't do like they expect... They abandon them. The first weekends box office were so poor that Disney ceased all advertisement. They did the same thing to Rescuers Down Under in 1990 and that's a great movie to. Id say its better than the first. See it . It is a fun action movie.

I actually liked the first one. Just want to get that out of the way. Is it a good movie FUCK NO but its entertaining as all hell for camp value. The hour and a half Nicholas Cage Elvis impersonation is hilarious.

Now this movie. It is somehow worse than the original. Its not hammy enough. Now is it all bad. Actually no. I think the rider looks amazing. WHEN THEY USE HIM. I like the bit of "whatever the rider chooses as his vehicle is his vehicle" That was actually cool. The rest of the movie around it was a mess. Unless your a fan of Nicholas Cage or the Ghost Rider id stay away.

Chronicle

I went to see this with a open mind. This is a low budget super hero flick with a bunch of no name actors on a low budget. It can either go very wrong or very right. I personally found it went more to the Right side of things.  It sets up who the villain will be very early and makes him very sympathetic. The effect they use for flying works brilliantly. Its also a nice twist on how they got out of the typical found footage movie trope. Is it predictable? yes. Is it full of cliches? Yes. Ya know what its still a solid film that id recommend. 

Haywire

At the recommendation of my Roommate I decided to give this one a chance. This is the epitome of what i call a "meh" movie. I left it not caring one way or the other about it. Gina Carano is gorgeous and the shots of her fighting are very well done. Partly due to the fact she actually can kid your ass. The story however is told most of the way as a flashback and is confusing until the info dump about 20 mins to the end. Not every and not very bad just Meh...

Sherlock Holmes and The Game Of Shadows

I decided to see this movie on a whim one night. I have to say that it is indeed a lot of fun. Much like the first film except this time it had a better story with Sherlock outsmarting his most famous nemesis. If you liked the first one at all you should see this one.

Beauty and the Beast 3D

In early February Disney released the Classic film to Cinema in the annoying trend of 3d.. I'm really tired of 3d. I have to say that the 3d was done very well. Several scenes were give depth and it all around worked very well. I was quite surprised. So in my opinion it was worth it to see this classic in theaters.

What you expect me to give some long windowed review of a 20 year old Disney film... Why we all know its great? We have all scene it.

For those of you complaining about the re-release in theaters take a step back and realize that Disney has done it since the beginning.
